  • Title: The Next Frontier for EHS Software: Utilizing Human and Organization Performance to Prevent Serious Injuries and Fatalities.

Leveraging EHS software that’s built on Human and Organizational Performance principles allows organizations a detailed modeling approach to identify groups of individuals, processes, or conditions that may create an unsafe event or serious injury or fatality event. Sadly, EHS professionals are often forced to conduct manual processes that take away the capacity to apply the right resources at the right time to prevent SIFs. In this session, we’ll review how one organization is applying software differently to achieve better insights and results. The improvements are based on the presenters’ experience regarding operationalizing HOP in several organizations and a long history of working with traditional software applications. We’ll reveal how software supports better leader observations and discussions to keep the conversation of risk alive, how controls are measured to understand if you are “lucky” vs. “good” and how event reviews are supported to shift the focus away from fixing “who” vs. “what.”
